"New Nugget of the Night" vs. Boston Celtics

As the second game without Melo and Chauncey came to a close the final box score of the Denver Nuggets vs the Boston Celtics read 89-75 victory for the Denver "Thu"ggets. However this night was much more than beating the top team in the Eastern Conference; it was a first full look at the Nuggets after the megatrade that sent Melo packing to New York. The award for the New Nugget of the Night goes to Wilson Chandler, the small forward who is filling in the void left by Melo, along with new member Danilo "Gallo" Galinari who was also a part of the deal. Chandler came off the bench and had 16 point on 5-9 shooting including 3-4 for beyond the arc, along with grabbing 5 boards. Tonight the Nuggets will take their 3 game-winning streak to Portland in a battle of placement for the final playoff seeds in the Western Conference.

Day 1 Without Anthony

As the second day begins with the city of Denver grieving from a seven year divorce of a undeniable superstar, there is hope spreading. Although the heart and soul of Denver Basketball is now gone in Billups' the Nuggets pulled off a 120-107 smashing of a very good up-and coming Memphis Grizzlies team. New team leaders Ty Lawson, Arron Afflalo, and JR Smith willed the team to a much needed victory to start a new era off right. The Nuggets will get back to work Thursday night in a clash against the Eastern Conference leaders Boston Celtics.
